"Hayfield Pick-A-Fence"

First timer cross country? Just want to ride round for some fun? (with a friend even) or looking for some serious excitement jumping bigger fences?

Then the Pick-A-Fence is for you!

Without doubt, the Hayfield course is ideal for all standards from young horses and first time performers to those who want to step up to prepare for greater things. Hayfield's chairman John Crawford, a former professional cross country course builder for the BHS was also an amateur national champion event rider and so knows his stuff. Most importantly, he knows about training riders and horses and how having fun and finishing well is so important to both. For that reason there is no elimination in the Pick-A-Fence and every horse, pony and rider finishes with a positive score.

In every one of the four non competitive Hunter Paces events held on the last weekend of every month from May to August and at the big final competitive event on the 11th of September, riders choose which fences to jump and always finish with positive points.

HUNTER PACE EVENTS.
(N.B. We are not running one on Sunday for this first event)

SATURDAY the 29th of MAY is the first.
To book all you do is phone in to 01224 315703 to pick a time which suits and send in your £15 for each round. If time or cancellation allows on the day further rounds may be ridden at £10 each.
Riders go off at 10 am and each successive riders (or pair of riders) follow at 2 minute intervals.
As time is of no consequence being passed by a faster participant does not matter and all that each participant needs to remember is that the faster oncoming horse always has a prior right to clear passage to jump the fence and so you need to stand to one side when you hear them call. (and may even profit from a fresh lead!)

SPONSORS.
With only 20 fences in the event, sponsors are advised to book a fence early. Because the event runs throughout 5 months of the summer calendar it generates a huge amount of interest and brings a spotlight onto your business, products or services.
