Peter Wylde Named Leading Rider at CSI-W Geneva

GLADSTONE, NEW JERSEY—December 10, 2003—U.S. show jumping rider Peter Wylde was named Leading Rider at CSI-W Geneva. Wylde, a double Silver Medalist at the 1999 Pan American Games and individual Bronze Medalist at the 2002 World Equestrian Games (WEG), was awarded a new Land Rover for his consistently-successful performances during the international show jumping competition.

In the final event of the week, the Rolex Grand Prix World Cup Qualifier, Wylde placed third on Fein Cera (Holsteiner, Landadel-Cera, owned by Turnabout Farm Inc.), his 2002 Bronze Medal mount who was named Best Horse of the Show Jumping World Championships held at the WEG. Wylde and Fein Cera turned in one of only four double clear rides in the Rolex Grand Prix to place third behind Thomas Velin of Denmark and Otto Becker of Germany.

Wylde also won two classes on Felix des Noues, had third and fifth place finishes on Melvin, and a fourth on Quo Vadis.

Also competing at Geneva was the U.S.’s Beezie Madden. The 2003 Pan American Games team Gold Medalist won one class on Desilvio (KWPN, Silvio II – Grazia, owned by Abigail Wexner), placed third in another on Conquest II (KWPN, Concorde – Fernod, owned by Joseph Patton) and had a fifth on Authentic (KWPN, Guidam – Gerlinda, owned by John Madden Sales). Madden also placed ninth on Authentic in the FEI Gandini Top Ten Final, an exclusive year-end championship event won by three-time World Cup champion Rodrigo Pessoa of Brazil. Madden was the only female among the ten riders who qualified for the Top Ten Final.
