Wins The World Cup Grand Prix At The Royal Agricultural

Ward, 27, from Brewster, NY, won the $60,000 World Cup class in
Toronto (CAN) Wednesday, November 13, aboard the 10-year-old bay
gelding, Rio (Belgian Warmblood: Apem Remondo x Crack de Bouche),
owned by Ward and Harry Gill. Eight riders made it to the jump
off with Ward jumping a clear round in 35.3. Leslie Howard finished
5th with 4 faults on Jane Clark's Paloma, a 10-year-old Belgian
Warmblood. Margie Engle placed 6th with 8 faults on Hidden Creek's
Jones (Obrecht - Dionne, by Tolbert), an 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood
gelding owned by Hidden Creek's Farm Inc. Schuyler Riley aboard
the South Beach Stables owned Opus Sept (Von Del V Henorixhof
- Pfeil De Chenemont, by Pik Koenig) tied for ninth place with
4 faults in the first round.
