Third KWPN Select Sale stallion approved

Yesterday, the fall performance examination for three-year-old riding stallions was completed in Ermelo, the Netherlands. Eight stallions, among them Rockefeller (Marlon x Jasper), were registered by the KWPN (Royal Warmblood Studbook of the Netherlands). With his approval, Rockefeller joins Revenge W (Animo) and Rousseau (Ferro) who had already been approved at the spring performance examination. All three of these approved stallions changed hands during the KWPN Select Sale on February third 2001, the latter being the auction’s top lot. They were part of a group of 21 stallions that were auctioned at an average of fl 80.000,-.

Rockefeller impressed the selection committee with his jumping skills. For technique and aptitude he scored a 7.5, for scope and force an 8. The bay stallion, bred by Mister Trommelen from Oosteind and owned by Van de Lageweg Studfarm in Beers and S. Pfifferling and G. Parot from Chili, will stay available in the Netherlands for breeding.

The second edition of the KWPN Select Sale will take place in the evening of Friday February first 2002, during the stallion selection in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. A first inspection is already taking place in Ermelo, after which the stallions that have been put forward for the second round of the stallion selection can be signed up for the Select Sale. An in-depth procedure will follow to ensure the quality of the auction. Preceding the KWPN Select Sale, the selected stallions which are admitted to the performance examinations in the spring and fall of 2002 will be announced. That moment will show which stallions that are up for auction are in the race for approval.

By 2002, the KWPN Select Sale will be closely linked with the VHO Sale. The initiative of the Society of Stallion Rearers (VHO) is traditionally present at the stallion selection in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. During the three selection days, the stallions which are signed up for the KSS VHO Sale and their details are available at a special sales committee. The KWPN Select Sale and the KSS VHO Sale together present the KWPN horse as a excellent and attractive sport horse. The combination of the Select Sale stallions with the KSS VHO stallions with more agreeable prices, will accommodate all interested parties.
