New Priory Stud near Chippenham in Wiltshire is delighted to announce that it has added the exciting young dressage stallion Wie Weltmeyer to its superb list of stallions.

Purchased by Emma Hindle last winter and ridden with such success by her that they were short-listed for the 2000 Olympic team within a few weeks of their competition debut together, Wie Weltmeyer will continue to compete with Emma at the very highest level so will available only by frozen semen for the foreseeable future.

‘We are all delighted with this arrangement’ said a happy Emma Hindle yesterday. ‘ I feel he has a great deal to give to British breeding and as the most successful international son of Weltmeyer so far, we know that many mare owners will think so to.’ Caroline Thomas, Owner of New Priory Stud agrees ‘He is a perfect compliment to the stallions we already stand. We already have showjumping and dressage stallions graded into 10 different stud books and now with a Hannoverian graded international dressage stallion available exclusively through us that makes 11, which we believe is a record for any UK stud’.

A son of the fabulous Weltmeyer out of a Dynamo mare, WIE WELTMEYER’s pedigree will be well known to many sport horse breeders through his top class relatives such as Welt Hit II, Without A Doubt, Alouette Machol and Dollar Girl. As befits such an illustrious background, he has maintained an outstanding record under saddle from the very beginning, when he won his performance test in 1993 and followed this up by a 3rd place in the German National Riding Horse Championships in 1996. From then on his career as a specialist dressage horse has gone from strength so that his many high placings in Grand Prix, Grand Prix Specials and Grand Prix Kur meant that he was a serious candidate for the Olympics only 12 months after his first international competition.

As if all this was not enough, Wie Weltmeyer has also produced a top stallion candidate son in Weltdiet and a record breaking auction foal Wunsch Die even though he has covered only a very limited number of mares due to his demanding competition schedule. ‘But we are sure this is only a hint of the great things to come when he starts his stud career proper.’ said Caroline. ‘By offering him through frozen semen we will be maximising his availability to everyone and we are all really looking forward to what the 2001 season has in store for him in every respect’.
