USA Equestrian Membership Surpasses Record

USA Equestrian membership numbered 82,706 on October 21, exceeding the total of 2001 membership and breaking the previous record set in 2001. The total membership for 2001 was 80,760, up from 77,441 in 2000 and 74,156 in 1999.

All membership categories show growth, with Junior and Senior membership showing a 2% increase and Life Membership increasing by 1%. Mary Henson, Director of Membership, said, "I am excited that we have been able to show continued growth with the current economic conditions."

USA Equestrian membership offers an array of benefits. All Life, Platinum, Senior and Junior members receive automatic insurance coverage of $1 million in personal excess liability insurance for horse-related accidents that cause bodily injury or property damage to third parties and travel benefits are offered with Hertz, Choice Hotels and United Airlines. Amateur certification is offered free of charge to those who qualify and the definitive guide to equestrian sport, the USA Equestrian Rule Book is also a bonus to members. Federation members are also eligible to compete in recognized shows, become USA Equestrian judges, stewards and technical delegates and are eligible to participate in the USA Equestrian awards program.
