USET Presents 2004 USET Open Reining Championship Qualifying Schedule

GLADSTONE, NEW JERSEY—September 29, 2003—The United States Equestrian Team (USET) has announced the qualifying schedule for the 2004 USET Open Reining Championship featuring the country’s top Reining horses and riders.

The first qualifying class on the schedule is at the prestigious All American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, OH on October 10, 2003. The Congress is one of the biggest equestrian events in the world with over 500,000 people attending each year.

The other five classes will take place throughout the 2004 season at various important Reining Horse Shows such as the National Western Stock Show, the Florida Reining Horse Classic, the Scottsdale Reining Horse Classic, the Gordyville Breeders Cup and the National Reining Breeders Classic.

In order to compete in a USET Open Reining Championship Qualifier, the rider must be listed on the 2003/2004 USET Long List and follow the 2004 USET Open Reining Championship Qualifying Procedures. Riders who have shown in the qualifiers are then eligible to compete in the USET Open Reining Championship next spring.

“We are very excited about the USET Open Reining Program,” said Bonnie Jenkins, USET Executive Director. “The qualifying classes represent a well balanced line-up that should set up perfectly for the USET Open Reining Championship Final.”
