26th Annual Hampton Classic Horse Show Summary

BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY (September 2, 2001) - The 26th Annual Hampton Classic Horse Show wrapped up today with high stakes grand prix action that delighted the crowd gathered under the distinctive yellow-and-white tents.

In addition, top hunter awards were presented Sunday.

Jumpers:
The $150,000 Prudential Financial Grand Prix presented by David Yurman:

Hidden Creek's Laurel, ridden by Margie Engle of Wellington, Fla.; owned by Hidden Creek Farm, Hidden Creek, Wis.

The $25,000 CalvinJumping Show Jumping Derby:Gera; owned by agent Gene ische of Palmetto, Fla; ridden by Michael Morrissey of Bradenton, Fla.

The $20,000 AmeriChoice Young Jumper Championship Finals for 5-Year-Olds:
Cingular, owned by Jessica Pasmore, ridden by U.S Olympic rider Laura Kraut

The $30,000 AmeriChoice Young Jumper Championship Finals for 6-Year-Olds:
Rollercoaster, owned by Mr. & Mrs. Steven Dicanio; ridden by U.S. Equestrian Team member Todd Minikus, Loxahatchee, Fla

Hunters:
The $5,000 Junior Amateur Owner Hunter Classic:
Dialog, owned and ridden Georgina Bloomberg, NY, NY

Grand Hunter Championship: PearlGold, owned by Ellen Toon, South Salem, NY

Leading Hunter Rider Award:
Holly Hayes-Orlando, Colts Neck, NJ

Best Junior Rider Award: Whitney Roper, hometown unavailable

Hunter Groom Award: Betsy Keating of South Salem, NY:State

More than 60,000 spectators enjoyed seeing some of the countrys finest equine athletes in action during the past 10 days with non-stop competition going on in The Hampton Classics five well-groomed rings at once.

The Classic has become a tradition for top national competitors, including veterans from the U.S. Equestrian Team such as JoeFargis, JeffreyWelles, Tim Grubb, Laura Kraut, Nona Garson, Leslie Howard, Todd Minikus and many others. The Hampton Classic attracts 1,800 show hunters and jumpers from as far away as
California:, Florida, Texas and Canada:.

The Hampton Classic Horse Show benefits the Southampton Hospital, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and the United States Equestrian Team. Offering up the best in show jumping, there is no other competition that brings
together the hunter-jumper circuit with thousands of spectators, extravagant social events, celebrities, shopping and fine dining in the Hamptons.
