IRELAND WILL NOT SEND TEAM TO NATIONS CUP
FINAL
The Equestrian Federation of Ireland has learned
with regret that the International Affairs Committee of the Show Jumping
Association of Ireland has decided not to send an Irish team to the World Final
of the Samsung Nations Cup in Madrid on September 20-23.
The Committee feels it would be unfair to ask the riders and horses competing
in the Samsung Nations Cup this weekend (September 5-9) at Spruce Meadows,
Canada, to also compete in the Madrid Final so soon after returning from
Canada.
The International Affairs Committee adds that, in its opinion, it does not have
a second Irish team that it could justify sending to the Final.
