Attache’ and Shachine Belle Win 2 Classes and First Year Green Working Hunter Championship At Vermont Summer Festival

East Dorset, VT – August 07, 2003–The Vermont Summer Celebration, continuing through Sunday, is the culminating horse show of the 5-week series, the Vermont Summer Festival.

Courtney McKay of Ocala, Florida won the Vermont Summer Festival Circuit Award for the BET/USET Show Jumping Talent Search Class with 32 points that she earned over the 5 weeks of competition. Ruth Drumm of Lennoxdale, MA won the USA Equestrian Pessoa Medal Class.

J.T Farm’s Attache’ with Shachine Belle won both over fence competitions for First Year Green Hunters and was crowned Champion of the First Year Green Working Hunter division. Luxor with Mary Lisa Leffler was Reserve Champion for owners Jimmy Torano and Anna Tilestone.

Kensington won the Regular Working Hunter Championship with Katie Milton riding for owner Danielle Glass of New York, NY. Just and Brian Walker finished as Reserve Working Hunter Champion. Katie Milton of Locust Valley, NY and Kensington’s victory led them to finish the 5-week series as Regular Working Hunter Circuit Champion.

From Mexico City, Mexico, Armando Hassey won the Open Jumper Speed Class riding Kosmanta in a time of 55.338 seconds beating a field of 12 horses.

The Vermont Summer Festival is New England’s largest “AA” rated hunter/jumper horse show. This year’s event includes five USET-recognized $35,000 Grand Prix held on the last day of each show and five $10,000 Mini Prix held on the Friday of each show. Each of the five weeks also features a $10,000 Show Jumping Hall Of Fame High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper class, part of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series which determines which junior and amateur/owner riders will qualify to ride at the 2003 National Horse Show.
