Adventure & Discovery Holidays In The Yorkshire Dales

Get active with the new series of themed short breaks in Nidderdale - Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). *You can take a walk through a lead mine, experience cycling off road, build and sail your own raft, learn how to survive with bush craft skills, explore the world underground, see the landscape from a different perspective with rock climbing and horse ride through beautiful countryside you*ll never forget *, said Paul Burgess, Nidderdale AONB Officer.

If that sounds too energetic you can take it easy. Choose one of the mind, body and spirit experiences, delve into fascinating history on a heritage weekend, spend time observing some of Britain*s most interesting birds or get some top tips from the experts on one of the photography weekends.

Passionate local specialists lead all the tours and as the parties are purposefully small and informal you are ensured individual attention. The themed breaks begin in July 2004 and end in May 2005. Prices start from £30 for a day course. The weekend breaks have been developed as part of a three year sustainable tourism project to maximise the tourism benefit to the area of outstanding natural beauty. The AONB has a strong commitment to using local suppliers to ensure that visitors experience the unique taste of Nidderdale at it*s very best.

*The sailing weekends were so popular last year we had to organise more!* Paul Burgess added.

If you would like to know more about the themed breaks contact Bewerley Park Outdoor Centre, Pateley Bridge, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG3 5JB, Tel: 01423 711287.
