Irish Sport Horses competing well in Norway and Canada

The Drammen, Norway CSIO****, from June 27th to 29th last, found Irish Army riders Capt. Gerry Flynn and Lt. Shane Carey jumping to success again. Rincoola Abu (ISH) was ridden by Capt. Gerry Flynn (IRL) to win both Fridays Lena Maskin Trophy (1m40) class and Saturdays Felleskjopet Speed Derby 1m40 class, in which Conor Swail (IRL) and Windgate Mystique (ISH) took second.

Lt. Shane Carey (IRL) and Laugton’s Lass (ISH) took second place in Saturdays Bertel O. Steen Trophy 1m40, landing behind class winners Tomgar Rocky (ISH) and HD Dreher (GER). Lt. Carey went on to take fifth place in Sundays Drammen Volvo Grand Prix with Killossery (ISH).

Over in Canada meanwhile, Irish Sport Horses have been well represented at Spruce Meadows recently. At the CSI B (June 20-22) Hilton Flight (ISH) was ridden by Richard Spooner (USA) to win the Nexen 1m45 class on Saturday June 21st. Sunday found Ado Annie (ISH) and Will Simpson take fourth in the Calgary Grand Prix.

This past weekend, at the Spruce Meadows CSI 3*, Hilton Flight (ISH) and Richard Spooner (USA) won Sundays Calgary Esso Challenge (1m60), while Ado Annie (ISH) and Will Simpson (USA) came third in Saturdays Calgary RBC Cup (1m60).
