Bridgehampton, NY—July 9, 2002— David Yurman, the fine jewelry designer and long time resident of the Hamptons, will celebrate ten years as a loyal supporter of the Hampton Classic Horse Show with an expanded presence in 2003! This year David Yurman is designated as the Official Timepiece and Jewelry Designer of the Hampton Classic. The acclaimed designer will also create a special Hampton Classic pin that will be sold to raise funds for the Hampton Classic and its designated beneficiary, Southampton Hospital.

The 28th annual Hampton Classic Horse Show, which runs from August 24-31 and benefits the Southampton Hospital, is a showcase for hunter and jumper competition from junior levels through grand prix.

In honor of Yurman’s sponsorship as the Official Timepiece, the 28th annual Hampton Classic will feature a new open jumper speed class, the $20,000 David Yurman Time Challenge Opening Day, August 24 in the Grand Prix Ring.

“For a decade, David and Sybil Yurman have been among our most devoted sponsors,” noted Anthony Hitchcock, Executive Director of the show. “And we are pleased to begin the week with this exciting new jumping competition. What a great way to begin the Yurman’s tenth year of support with an event that will mark the first time we have presented a jumping competition in the Grand Prix Ring on Opening Day. They will both be on hand to present the winner with one of the David Yurman Thoroughbred or Color Chrono Timepieces.”

“We are very proud to announce the new ‘cable encircled’ design for a special Hampton Classic pin that David has personally designed for the show. These elegant pins will be sold in the Hampton Classic Boutique in our Boutiques Garden.”

“Sybil and I have been part of this community for 25 years”, stated David Yurman, “We are pleased to have taken our sponsorship to this new level launching the week with a new, timed competition and designing a Hampton Classic pin, proceeds of which will go to the Southampton Hospital.”

Once again, David Yurman will be presenting a handcrafted, custom-made silver and gold championship belt buckle to the winner of the $150,000 Prudential Financial Grand Prix on Sunday, August 31, 2003. A “David Yurman” signature jump will be an integral part of the Grand Prix course, as well as courses for the $30,000 Adequan Grand Prix Qualifying Class, the $25,000 Sally Hansen Grand Prix, and the $25,000 Calvin Klein Show Jumping Derby.
