Nominations Being Accepted for Livestock Hall of Fame
The International Stockmen’s Educational Foundation opens nominations to the public

(Houston, TX) – For the first time in its 16-year history, the International Stockmen’s Educational Foundation (ISEF) is inviting the public to submit their nominations to its Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame, recognizing all-time greats of the livestock industry, was established as part of the International Stockmen's School, and continued as part of the International Livestock Congress.

“There is an abundance of men and women in livestock agriculture who have made extraordinary contributions to this industry,” said ISEF Chairman Dan Gattis. “This applies to individuals who advance research for food safety, to ranchers who have preserved their ranching heritage while modernizing their management techniques, to corporate executives who have championed the animal agriculture industry.”

This prestigious gallery provides due recognition to truly outstanding stockmen, breeders, businessmen associated with the industry, educators and administrators whose contributions have significantly advanced animal agriculture and benefited mankind. The recipients will be leaders of impeccable character, with broad vision and dedication to the highest ideals. In short, they will represent the very best among the world's livestock leaders. Deceased stockmen and women can be considered as worthy individuals if, in the view of the committee and the Board, their contributions warrant special consideration.

The 25 members of the ISEF Board of Directors will select the recipient. The award will be presented as part of the International Livestock Congress to be held February 25-28 in Houston, Texas. An appropriate portrait will be displayed in a special gallery, with suitable plaque listing the unique contributions of the individual to the livestock industry. A special Hall of Honor will be established in the new facility of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to appropriately display the portraits.

In addition to the displayed portrait, the award winner will receive travel to Houston for the recipient and one guest, complimentary registration to the International Livestock Congress and a special gift from the Foundation.

Nominations are due no later than October 1 and should include the following:
… Name and address of the nominee
… A brief description (no more than 250 words) of the nominee’s contributions to the livestock industry
… A resume or curriculum vitae

Nominations may be sent to ISEF Executive Director Julie J. Kimball by October 1 to
P.O. Box 150128, Fort Worth, TX 76108, by fax to (817) 367-3751or by e-mail to julie@livestockcongress.com.

The ISEF was formed in 1986 as an outgrowth of the International Stockmen’s School founded in 1942 by the late Dr. M.E. Ensminger. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, its primary purpose is to manage the International Livestock Congress, held each year during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where representatives from around the world gather to discuss relevant and critical global issues facing the beef and horse industries.
