New Broadcast Dates Announced For Badminton Horse Trials Special

SportsQuest International has announced a revised broadcast schedule for the television documentary, "Behind the Scenes at Badminton: Eventing’s Supreme Challenge". The program was previously scheduled for broadcast on Sunday, June 23.

The "With Equestrian Tact..." special will air nationally in the United States as a HorseTV presentation on the America One Television network.

Broadcast times are as follows:

· Sunday, July 14, 6:00 p.m. Eastern / 3:00 p.m. Pacific

· Wednesday, July 17, 11:00 p.m. Eastern / 8:00 p.m. Pacific

· Friday, July 26, 3:00 p.m. Eastern / 12 Noon Pacific

The one-hour documentary will provide a detailed ‘behind-the-scenes’ look at the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials.

The delay in the program’s release was necessitated, says Senior Producer Melvin Cox, by the production team’s desire to incorporate additional materials outlining the rich history of the Badminton event. These elements include photos of past Badminton champions, including John Shedden, winner of the first event in 1949. Also to be included are comments from His Grace, The 11th Duke of Beaufort, host of the Badminton Horse Trials. "This is going to be an outstanding hour of television", says Cox.

Produced by SportsQuest International, the program will examine the many factors that define the Badminton Horse Trials as the world’s premier Three-Day Event. Katrina Barclay hosts the presentation.

America One Television is available via independent TV stations and cable systems throughout the U.S., in-the-clear to C-Band Dishes throughout North America, and via both dial up and broadband connections to the Internet from any country in the world. America One is one of the few television networks which also webcasts its programming 24 hours a day. The network’s Los Angeles affiliate (KVMD-TV 31) is available to DirectTV and Dish Network subscribers in that important marketplace.

The hour includes insightful interviews conducted by journalist and author Chris Stafford. Conversations with equestrian world legends Mark Todd, Lorna Clarke, David and Karen O’Connor, Capt. Mark Phillips, Hugh Thomas and Badminton 2002 Champion Pippa Funnel highlight the presentation.

The Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials is traditionally among the most well attended fixtures on the European sporting calendar, consistently drawing crowds of 120,000 plus for the cross-country phase.

Production of this program is made possible in part through the generous support of National Equestrian Communications and BCM Productions.
