It's that time of year again, flying pests are coming out and the summer battle begins!

Spraying poisons all over your horse (and yourself) may offer some relief from flies and midges but how effective is it really and what are the long term costs to health and the environment?

Truly natural products are hard to come by, as often as not those that scream 'natural' on the bottle on closer inspection turn out to be mostly chemicals with one natural ingredient. And then there is the problem that what works on one horse doesn¹t for the other. So what is the solution? The most effective bug control is that which is custom made for each individual's unique bio-chemistry and you can easily learn how to do that yourself with 100% natural ingredients and in less time than it takes to scour the tack shop shelves.

Nayana Morag, eminent, natural therapist holds workshops in the UK and USA that teach you how to make your own sprays and lotions and how to use essential oils and other natural products to help care for many common problems and keep your animals fit and healthy physically and emotionally. Next workshop in the UK, 27/28 June in Biggin Hill, Kent.
