Irish Eventers and Showjumpers on form in the US and Europe

The Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event (April 24th to 28th 2003) finished with two Irish Sport Horses in the top five final placings. Moon Man (ISH), ridden by William Fox-Pitt (GBR), took third place after picking up four faults in the showjumping phase. Shear L’Eau (ISH), ridden by Leslie Law (GBR), finished fifth. In total, eleven Irish bred horses competed in Lexington making up one fifth of the fifty six competitors there.

In Showjumping Irish Sport Horses competed at the Sheffield (GB) CSI **** and the Vittel (FRA) CSI*** last weekend. In Sheffield, Royal Charmer (ISH) ridden by Markus Fuchs (SUI) won the opening Thursdays 1m35 Welcome Stakes class. Fridays Sheffield Masters 1m50 class saw Abbervail Dream (ISH) and Di Lampard (GBR) take second place.

In Vittel Conor Swail (IRE) rode Windgate Sensation (ISH) to win the Prix Socapa 7 year old class. Finally in Italy, at Pratoni De Vivaro, the Italian National Championship final was won by Rosa VIII, ridden by Vincenzo Chimirri (ITA).
