"HYDRO FODDER FARM"

USING U.S. & CANADIAN PATENTED HYDROPONICS TECHNOLOGY TO MEET YOUR FEEDING NEEDS

Increasing land values and unsettled climatic conditions have made once abundant forage-growing acreage very valuable yet highly unpredictable. GREENFIELD has developed world's first Solar Photo Voltaic and 110/220 volt Powered Hydroponics Greenhouse "Hydro Fodder Farm", a breakthrough that will allow economical fodder production in even the driest, most remote, or valuable locations.

This "Hydro Fodder Farm" is constructed of prefabricated steel or fiberglass insulating panels, making up to the one-ton (per day) unit portable. The "Hydro Fodder Farm" controls the temperature and maintains a 24-hour a day growing environment and by powering fluorescent lights that allow photosynthesis to take place. Watering is provided by either sprinkler or drip irrigation and requires approximately 200 US gallons or 800 liters of water daily for fodder production.

Completely self-contained and self-regulating, the greenhouse unit automatically controls the water pump, temperature system and photosynthetic lighting for optimum efficiency.

QUALITY FEED PROGRAMS FOR QUALITY LIVESTOCK

Its production capacity is constant in terms of quality and volume of fodder produced per day, 365 days a year. Outside contaminants such as dust and toxins from agri-chemicals are not found because of the controlled growing environment. As the daily crop is fed immediately to the herd, it is always moist. This moisture provides two major benefits; reduced water consumption and less dust in the stall environment.

By altering the water supplied to the seedlings, the fodder can be customized to suit a particular feed program. The nutrient that is supplied to the plants will eventually, if not immediately, be ingested by the livestock as a part of the normal food chain process. Therefore modified, natural, nutritional programs can be developed.

Livestock like the fresh fodder produced in the hydroponics greenhouse. Palatability and digestibility is always a concern to the livestock owners, the fresh fodder grown in a GREENFIELD'S "Hydro Fodder Farm" eliminates that concern.

"Hydro Fodder Farm" grows fresh, natural, controllable, and dust free and highly nutritive feed!

GROWING FEED THAT PAYS FOR ITSELF

The "Hydro Fodder Farm" only requires an area of 300 square feet to produce over 400 tons of fresh barley fodder per year. Which is equivalent to 25 acres of an agricultural land in the tropical climatic conditions. This means that the entire fodder requirements for a herd of 200 horses or 100 cattle for an example could be grown in the same space of the average two car garage, spring, summer, fall, or winter and can be leased as little as $50.00 per day! Acreage normally devoted to the production of fodder can be used for other purposes, a new training track, an exercise paddock, or new buildings. Smaller farms, with little feed acreage; can now enlarge their herd size without enlarging their real estate.

Better land utility is not the only economic factor favoring the GREENFIELD system. Fodder costs are perhaps the biggest advantage.

Raw materials are inexpensive and easy to find. Barley seed, water, fresh air and sunshine are all that is required, while six to eight hours of labor per day will harvest, sow and maintain a productive crop. With all of these advantages, you will love making hay as much as your horses will love eating it!
