AK
High Valley Z convincing winner TNT Sires of the World 2001/2002
In
the blood-curdling finals of the TNT Sires of the World 2001/2002
at Indoor Brabant AK High Valley Z and Jos Lansink left the rest
of the field far behind. This international showjumping competition
for licensed stallions is an initiative of Léon Melchior,
owner of the Belgian studfarm Zangersheide and Jos Lansink's employer.
That
Zangersheide's rider won this competition is not so surprising
by itself; after all, the same combination had also won last year.
But that the Zangersheide-champion managed to win this competition
so far ahead of the rest of the field so far behind is a novelty.
In the 2000/2001 series Jos and AK High Valley Z won with 100
points, nine points more than Jos on his other horse, the early
deceased Caretano Z. In the over-all 2001/2002 competition Jos
and AK High Valley collected no less than 149 points; German rider
Franke Sloothaak on Paramo K finished in second place with 81
points, while Dutch rider Albert Zoer scored 80 points on Lincoln.
In
the finals Jos and AK High Valley Z were the only combination
to go clear in all three rounds. The second place in the finals
was for the Irish rider Dermott Lennon and the French stallion
Dow Jones Courcel, third was Albert Zoer on Lincoln.
During
the prize award the breeders of the winning horses were offered
extra breeding premiums, provided that they were present. Mr.
P.S. Koopmans from Bozum, breeder of AK High Valley Z (KWPN, Ahorn-Conte)
received a cheque of Euro 5,000 from Léon Melchior. For
Paramo K (Westf., Polydor-Der Clou) Werner Kegel from Lienen (Germany)
received a cheque amounting to Euro 3,000. Only the breeder of
Lincoln (Faldo-Bredero) missed out on Euro 2,000 as he was not
present.
