IRELAND'S KURTEN MOVES UP WORLD SHOW JUMPING RANKINGS

Jessica Kurten is now 19th in the World Cup Show Jumping Rankings, just two places below the world's leading female rider, Alexandra Lederman. Jessica is due to compete in the World Cup Final in Gotenburg (SWE) this month (April 12-16, 2001).

Below is the official release from the FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale) on the current rankings.

FEI/GANDINI WORLD JUMPING RIDERS RANKINGS

Few changes in Top 10, Beerbaum leads the rankings

Two weeks before the World Cup Final, Ludger Beerbaum leads the rankings with a comfortable amount of 653 points more than Rodrigo Pessoa. Markus Fuchs, who has not earned any points since Geneva CSI-W in December 2000, lost his third position in favour of Lars Nieberg. Hugo Simon enters the Top 10. There are only a few changes in the Top 10, as several important shows had to be cancelled due to Foot and Mouth Disease (Grenoble and Moorsele CSI-A, s¹Hertogenbosch and Oviedo World Cups).

Jessica Kurten won 107 points in Paris and Dortmund and goes up from 27th to 19th rank. She is getting closer to Leading lady rider Alexandra Ledermann, still ranked 17th. Another successful woman is the Swiss Dehlia Oeuvray, who won 171 points in California and jumps up from 104th to 65th place.

complete rankings available from FEI website as of tomorrow 4 April
