The British Horse Society has announced the riders for the National Instructors Convention on 22 and 23 April at Solihull Riding Club, taken by internationally renowned trainer Albert Voorn. The International Trials riders are Jackson Reed-Stephenson and Paul Barker (who has jumped on two National Cup teams), both hailing from Yorkshire and Grace Barton from Hertfordshire. Jackson and Grace were members of the British Young Rider squad that took Bronze at the European Championships 2000. There are also three other groups of mainly local riders: The riders for the Young Horse 4 & 5 year old section are Alison Bradley and Michael Jones from Berkswell, Coventry and Karen Preston. The Newcomer section comprises Daniel Skelton (Nick's son) from Rowington, Warks, Samantha Livsey from Shropshire and Mark Bunting from Baxterley, near Atherstone. Foxhunter riders are husband and wife team, Alex and Lee Hudson from Kent and Candice Williams and Sarah Bassett from Wales. All these riders will be working with Dutch show jumper Albert Voorn to demonstrate his techniques. Albert is an exceptionally talented and gifted rider and trainer whose expertise is sought after the world over. He has been show jumping champion of Holland twice and he has had wins in both the World Cup and Nations Cup as well as a Silver medal at the Sydney Olympics 2000. Albert is best known as a rider and trainer of difficult or problem horses. This convention promises to be an exciting one and anyone who is keen to improve their show jumping techniques should book now, as tickets are going fast.
