ILPH Appoints New Director of UK Operations

The ILPH (International League for the Protection of Horses) has today appointed Tony Tyler as their new Director of UK Operations.

Tony (42) has been working for the ILPH as Norfolk Centre Manager, now based at Hall Farm, Snetterton, since November 1999. Prior to that he was a Senior Equine Lecturer at Walford College in Shropshire where he helped set up and run the equine facilities, managed and taught pupils at all levels. He is currently on a number of committees including the BHS Examinations Advisory Group, and is a BHS Chief examiner.

Comments John Smales, ILPH Chief Executive, "I am delighted that the trustees have selected Tony Tyler for this new position. The competition was very strong, but it was unanimously felt that Tony had the all round experience that the post required. It's particularly a pleasure to be able to promote someone from within our own organisation who has the necessary skills to do the job."

Tony adds, "I am obviously thrilled to be taking on this new challenging position and hope to be able to make a positive contribution to equine welfare in the UK."

Tony will be taking up his new post progressively over the next few months to ensure the smooth opening of the new Hall Farm development, in which he has been closely involved.

Tony is married to Judith and has two children. In his spare time he enjoys running and this year he will be competing in the London Marathon for the third time.
