Co-Winners Of Breeder's Cup Award Announced

Jane MacElree of Colora, MD and Shelia Varian of Arroyo Grande, CA have been
named as recipients of the USA Equestrian Ellen Scripps Davis Memorial
Breeder's Cup Award. MacElree is the owner of Hilltop Farm and a successful
breeder of sport horses. Varian is a successful breeder of champion
Arabians. They will be presented with their awards Friday, January 11, 2002
at the USA Equestrian Pegasus Dinner during the USA Equestrian Annual
Meeting in Charlotte, NC.

The Ellen Scripps Davis Memorial Breeder's Cup was established in 1999 to
recognize an individual who consistently breeds outstanding show horses.
The award, acknowledged with a commemorative sterling silver, honors the
role unique breeding enterprises have in the development and improvement of
show horses.

USA Equestrian Inc., as the National Equestrian Federation of the U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and World Championship sports of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show jumping, and vaulting, as well as 19 other breeds and disciplines of equestrian competition. As the country's largest multi-breed organization, the Federation has over 77,000 members and recognizes more than 2,800 competitions nationwide each year. It governs all aspects of competition, including educating and licensing all judges, stewards, and technical delegates who officiate at these shows.
