Dual Gold Cup Winning Horse Has Own Web Site & Information Line For Open Day

Sunday 21 September

Best Mate’s Open Day on Sunday 21 September, now has its own web site which provides full details and news of the event: www.bestmate.info as well as an information line on 01793-710707.

The Open Day will be a rare opportunity for the public to see Dual Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, Best Mate, and the other horses at Henrietta’s training yard at West Lockinge Farm, Wantage, Oxon. It will be the first time that the yard will be open to the public in five years.

Comments Henrietta: “Best Mate has been enjoying his Summer break in the sunshine with his ‘best mate’ Edredon Bleu and has recently started light exercise to tone him up in preparation for his first race in November. He will absolutely adore all the attention of the Open Day and I am sure would be delighted to know that he now has his own web site!”

Admission will be £10 on the gate (under 12s free) and proceeds will go to The Injured Jockeys Fund, The International League for the Protection of Horses and “The Gentlemen’s Night Out “ – a charity close to the heart of Best Mate’s owner, Jim Lewis. The latter distributes charitable grants, without deduction for any overheads or administration, to various causes where they can make a real difference.

In addition to a parade of horses and opportunity to tour the yard, the day will also feature the Aintree Simulator, Falconry and Dog Agility Displays, Childrens’ Entertainment and Trade Stands.
