2003 Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic September 3-7, 2003

The Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic brings the excitement of powerful horses and exciting show jumping competition to the Boston area on September 3rd and 7th. The only Grand Prix event in the Boston area and is dubbed the premier social sporting event of the season by the Boston Globe, this is world class show jumping at its finest. It attracts some of the top riders and horses in the country who have represented the United States internationally. This year's $50,000 Grand Prix will draw a field of some 40 competitors vying for first place. Grand Prix is the highest level of show jumping in the sport and tests both skill and speed over a complex course of obstacles.

Gourmet food, exhibitors' tents filled with artwork and horse-related items and gifts, pony rides for children, and intermission entertainment will add to the ambiance of a festive late summer weekend.

Please join us on Friday evening, September 5th for the Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic Kick-Off Party to benefit S.A.F.E Studio in Ipswich. Come enjoy the evening where Denise Hajjar Fashions will show you what to wear to the Sunday's VIP champagne luncheon. There will be a live and silent auction. It is a great evening to meet the riders and enjoy the country setting. Tickets for the party are $65 per person, $125 per couple. The ticket prices include a cocktail reception with an open bar for the evening.

The Laurent Perrier Champagne luncheon will be held on Sunday, September 7th. This is the only spot to watch the show jumpers while you sip on champagne and enjoy gourmet food. This year there we will be having a Lady's Best Hat Contest at the VIP luncheon. The judges will be Sarie Boyd, editor, and Eleanor Spaak, society writer, of The Newbury Street and Back Bay Guide. Tickets for the lunch are $130; they include lunch, open bar, seating under the tents, parking, and a program book.

So come applaud the national and international riders who have achieved the pinnacle of equestrian excellence in a sport that demands courage, confidence and commitment. Cheer the horses whose strength and bravery will be tested by the technically challenging courses. Whether you are an equestrian, an avid spectator, or attending for the first time, you will enjoy the array of activities.

The Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic will be held at the Myopia Hunt Club Schooling Field, on September 3rd and 7th. Myopia Hunt Club Schooling Field is located off of on Route 1A in South Hamilton, Massachusetts.
