Cleveland Bay Horse Society Launches Passport Issuing Service

THE Cleveland Bay Horse Society (CBHS) is launching a new British Horse Passport issuing service.

This new service is available to all horse owners whatever the breed of their animal.

For a number of years the society has issued passports for part bred and pure bred Cleveland Bays but the service is now being extended.

The Society is offering the passport facility, which fully complies with the new regulations that come into force at the end of December 2003, to both non CBHS members and to horses that have no Cleveland Bay blood. The price of the Passport has been set at £19.

The CBHS has issued equine documentation for many years, understanding the legislative requirements that have to be met.

Nigel Cowgill, Chairman of the CBHS Breed Committee said: "With the imminent arrival of the new regulations it is a natural move for the Society to issue passports.

"Many of our members have other horses that are non-Cleveland Bays and were looking for a passport outlet.

"What better way for the equine public to overcome their passport problems than by dealing with an experienced well-established horse society.

"Any surplus funds will be utilised to help the Society's charitable aim of protecting and preserving the Cleveland Bay horse which is an endangered rare breed."
