A Horse Magazine of a Different Color - Announcing the Launch of Canter Magazine

San Jose, CA--June 6, 2002--A new magazine aimed at horse owners and horse enthusiasts is set to launch this summer. Subtitled "The Literary Journal for Horse People," Canter Magazine takes a completely different look at horses and our centuries-old relationship with them.

Instead of emphasizing practical and how-to subjects, Canter focuses on the history, art, and culture of horses and the equestrian lifestyle.

"There are thousands of stories out there that are passed over by traditional, discipline-specific horse publications," says Becki Bell, editor and publisher of the new magazine. "Horses have been a part of our history and culture for thousands of years. They've helped us build civilization. They've been favorite subjects of art since people first began painting on cave walls thousands of years ago. Many of the world's cultures were--and still are--defined by horses. We felt that the
literature available to horse lovers on these subjects is incomplete, particularly in magazines. We wanted to remedy that."

Subjects covered by the new magazine will include the history of horses and their use by different cultures around the world. The magazine will also cover the development of individual horse breeds, profiles of famous horses and horse people (both past and present), historical and modern art featuring horses, horse-related entertainment and travel destinations, and fiction.

Subscriptions to Canter Magazine can be obtained online at http://www.cantermagazine.com. Single issues will also be available for sale on the magazine's website later this summer. Advertisers can obtain rate information at http://www.cantermagazine.com/advertise/.
