Bob Bell Named To Manage New York, Las Vegas, by National Horse Show Association

New York, New York (May 2, 2003) -- Bob Bell of Charleston, South Carolina, has been named Manager of the new Metropolitan National Horse Show in New York City, and the 120th National Horse Show (Indoor Championships), in Las Vegas, Nevada, the National Horse Show Association announced today.

Bell, 46, whose Classic Company is among America’s premier equestrian competition management organizations, has a long and varied experience in the sport. Among the shows he has organized are the Gulf Coast Winter Series, the Atlanta Series, and the highly popular Biltmore event in North Carolina, at the Vanderbilt estate. He also served 14 years in management capacities at the Washington International.

“Bob joined us in the feasibility studies of the new venue in New York (at Pier 94 and the Show Piers on the Hudson complex), and has been a tremendous asset in evaluating the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas,” said Alan F. Balch, president of the National. “We’ve been in continual touch for months now, informally, and we certainly understand why Bob has the excellent reputation he does for attending to the needs of the exhibitors. He’s brought that perspective to all our meetings, and I know that both these events will not only be tops competitively, but also great experiences for both exhibitors and spectators alike.”

Organizing Committees for each of the 3 events to be produced by the National this year will be announced soon, including the Outdoor Championships in Wellington, Florida, managed under the auspices of Stadium Jumping, Inc., which also consults on the management of all National Horse Show Association events. The Metropolitan in New York is October 29-November 2, the Indoor Championships in Las Vegas is November 19-23, and the Palm Beach event is November 25-30. For more information, contact Carolyn Vincent at 516/484-1865, via email at nationalhs@aol.com, or consult the National’s website at www.nhs.org. Prize Lists will be available and tickets will go on sale to the public July 15, 2003.
