The US-Icetolt Championship

The Great Icelandic Horse Fair a campaign promoting the Icelandic Horse in the US is now in the process of establishing a new and exotic equestrian sport in the United States: The US - IceTolt Championship. - Icelandic horses performing on ICE.

The Icelandic horse with its famous gait called Tolt, will be performing at speed and in formation on Ice. For the first time in the US the TGIHF-group did a demonstration on ICE in ABQ, New-Mexico last fall. Needless to say it was a huge success and for the spectators a thrilling event. In Iceland as well as in some countries in Europe IceTolt competitions are extremely popular and people travel from different countries to attend. There are more ways to use ice rinks then to ice-skate !!!!!!

TGIHF-group is doing an event in Dillsburg, PA. May 16-19th 2002, where two IceTolt competitions are scheduled. We will compete in two divisions,

1. For advanced/or professional riders
2. For intermediate/or amateur riders.

Next fall the TGIHF-group will be in California where we plan to continue the Championship . From there we will continue our Championship until we crown the US - IceTolt Champion for the first time.

In the future we hope to be able to do IceTolt Competitions all over the US and turn this Championship into a major project.

For all information we invite you to browse our web site: http://www.toltmasters.is/ And for those who want to participate in the IceTolt Championship please contact us and we will assist each and everyone to get prepared.

Best wishes from Iceland
On behalf of The Great Icelandic Horse Fair
