Minister to speak at National Equine Forum

Rural Affairs Minister Alun Michael will speak about his plans for the equine industry at this year’s National Equine Forum, to be held on Thursday 25th March 2004 at The Royal Veterinary College, London.

The National Equine Forum, which is to be attended by HRH The Princess Royal, is the only independent conference for the horse world in the UK. It is not a lobbying organisation. Its major function is to identify important topics and provide an opportunity to hear all sides of complex issues.

The Rt Hon Alun Michael MP Minister for Rural Affairs will be presenting ‘a government overview of the industry’. Other speakers will include Haydn Price DipWCF; Dr Josh Slater MRCVS; Twink Allen CBE, MRCVS; Graham Suggett OBE, DL, Consultant Director of Breeding British Equestrian Federation; Tristram Ricketts, Secretary General British Horseracing Board; David Pritchard Head of Animal Welfare Veterinary Division DEFRA; Catherine Burdock General Secretary Sport Horse Breeding of GB and Hannah Haskew the winner of the prestigious Eqvalan Equine Thesis of the Year competition.

Tickets to the National Equine Forum are by invitation only – if you are one of the lucky invitees the Forum would be grateful if you could respond promptly to secure your place at this highly regarded event. For further information contact: Ailsa Chambers, NEF Secretary, telephone: 01926 318273
