If there were ever a company which cares about it's riding customers then it must be Charles Owen. Not only do they keep everyone who rides safe by producing the best in riding hats and body protectors, but they also actively promote riding as a sport.

The Competition Answer this month's question to be entered in the prize draw to win your very own Charles & Owen soft toys!

This months competition asks you to quote a minimum of two sayings which you feel would be helpful to have posted in the riding arena you train in. For example "Always pass left hand to left hand" . Your answers will also help to improve the service people get when they go to their local riding school or training centre to learn to ride, jump or compete.

Charles & Owen Soft Toys They've come to Life! Charles and Owen those cheeky little cartoon ponies have come to life in Three-D form. Charles who is of Thoroughbred Racehorse parentage (and never allows Owen to forget it) is approx 7" tall, and tends to look down his rather long nose at his scruffy little friend Owen. Poor Owen is of unknown parentage, as his short fat little legs indicate, but he has a heart of gold. He is approx. 5" tall.

Kids Own Riding School Skull Cap As you are no doubt aware the Riding Hat standards changed in 1998 to PAS015/BSEN1384. This was enforced by the majority of Associations in addtion to the ABRS and BHS and therefore the Riding Schools. Therefore Charles Owen & Company decided to manufacture a hat specifically for use in Riding Schools and Hiring Establishments. The Kids Own Riding School Skull Cap is designed on an easy-fit/self adjusting system which makes 'thirty second fittings' a reality. Each of the four sizes caters for approximately three different standard sizes. For example a small will fit heads measuring 6 1/2, 6 5/8 and 6 3/4.

The idea behind the competition.

Charles Owen managing director Roy Burek and myself, John Crawford, Equiworld's chairman both believe that introducing people to riding is a wonderful thing to do and the earlier the better. We have both been supporters of associations which provide assistance to riding schools and training centres for many years. Now with your help as one of the 16,000 people who use Equiworld daily we expect to gather new and useful information from all over the world. The information should help us to assist those associations concerned with training to provide an improved service and training to future generations of riders.
