Trials will be held May 14-15 at the Del Mar Horse Park in Del Mar and May 22-23 at Oaks Blenheim in San Juan Capistrano. These two sites previously hosted highly-successful trials for the 2000 Olympics and 2002 World Equestrian Games.

Del Mar will host the first three trials. Trial 1 will be held on Friday evening, May 14. Trial 2 will be held on Saturday afternoon, May 15, and Trial 3 (over the same course) will held that evening. The selection trials move to San Juan Capistrano for Trial 4 on Saturday, May 22 and for Trials 5 and 6 on Sunday, May 23.

Horse-and-rider combinations wishing to compete in Show Jumping Selection Trials for the 2004 Olympic Games must qualify by achieving a performance standard in one or more USET and/or Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) qualifying classes.
