Carey Wins Speed Class At Barcelona

THE IRISH started to flex their muscles at Barcelona today (Saturday), ahead of tomorrow's vital Samsung Super League clash, the final of the 2003 series.

Following a second place on Thursday by Cian O'Connor, it was the turn of the Army today as Lt. Shane Carey took the No. 1 spot with in the Table C Speed Class on <Laughton's Lass>, beating Belgium's Jean Claude Vangeenberghe by a mere fraction of a second, while O'Connor slotted <ABC Landliebe> into fourth, with one fence down.
