Bob Mayhew at Burley-Villa

Having been postponed several times, due to Foot and Mouth restrictions, the Bob Mayhew Western Clinic, originally scheduled for March, finally went ahead last Sunday, 15th August at the Burley Villa Western Riding Centre in the New Forest. Hailed as a great success by all who attended, the clinic, which was fully booked, saw riders working in groups of four for two, one hour sessions. Bob assessed each rider and, concentrating on individual strengths and weaknesses, soon had everyone enthralled as he put the riders and horses through their paces. There was a super atmosphere throughout the day, and, with Bobs expert tuition, many improvements were noted by spectators and riders alike. There was even a chance for a chat with Bob over a piping hot 'Beef Stew' lunch.

One eager rider, Terry Cooper, who runs his Western Tack store at Burley Villa, thoroughly enjoyed the clinic . 'I love western riding and get involved as much as I can. I'd like to see more of Bob, it was great to see him helping the novices and beginners'. In fact Bob will be back for two more visits as part of Burley Villa's winter programme of Western Clinics, which commence in September and includes, amongst others, Susie Anderson and Judith Hubbard.
