Balmoral Championships Set For July

With a record prize fund in excess of Stg£20,000, the National Balmoral Championships will be held between July 14 and 18 this year in Belfast.

Championship Day is July 18, which will feature the finals of the young horse classes and the feature event <The Planet Bingo Grand Prix>. This is part of the Kerrygold Grand Prix League, and will carry superleague status.

The finals of the young horse classes are sponsored by WKD and Hillcrest Stud, with a combined £3,000 on offer, are sure to attract the country's top young horses.

This year the organisers have secured television coverage, and the final day's events at Balmoral will be broadcast on Sky.

The Hunter Championships take place on Wednesday, July 17, with a prize fund of over £1500. The top award is the Hunter of the Year title, which carries a prize of £500.
