USA Equestrian / Performance Horse Registry Announce Event Horse Breeders Symposium

Sporthorse breeders with an interest in eventing won't want to miss the inaugural Event Horse Breeders Symposium to be held April 24-23, 2003, during the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event at the Kentucky Horse Park.

The symposium, organized by USA Equestrian and presented by the Performance Horse Registry (PHR), is the creation of Breeders Committee chairman Denny Emerson, correspondent Robby Johnson, and PHR founder, Ned Bonnie. Designed to help educate breeders on the finer points of breeding for eventing, this symposium will feature a conformation evaluation of world class event horses Giltedge, Prince Panache and Molokai. Pedigree analysis of 2003 Rolex entries, and commentary by several noted experts, including Jim Graham, Drs. Kent Allen and Peter Birdsall, Denny Emerson, Dorothy Crowell (plus others not available at press time), will also anchor the agenda.

Emerson said, "The time has come for breeders in America to focus on breeding horses with the express intent of careers in eventing. We hope this symposium will be a launching point for the development of more programs for other breeds and disciplines."

Cost is $50 per person ($25 for juniors) for the two-day presentation. The symposium is conveniently scheduled shortly after Rolex daily competition concludes. Reservations are required and enrollment is limited to 150 people.
