Zilco

Zilco, a world leader in the manufacture of synthetic harness and saddlery, is pleased to announce that Kellinghusen Fahrsport, in Hamburg, will be its main distributor of Zilco Competition Driving harness in Germany.

Zilco is also releasing a new range of driving harness, 'Zilco First'. This harness is a new concept targeted specifically at the new entrant to the sport of carriage driving in the fast-growing leisure-driving market.

The company, based in New Zealand and Australia, specialises in top-quality synthetic driving harness for all levels of carriage driving.

This range of harness will be on show at Spoga, in Germany, September 2-4.

Also on display will be:
Zilco George Bowman marathon competition harness
Zilco Classic leisure driving harness

Kellinghusen Fahrsport carries comprehensive stocks of Zilco competition driving harness and is able to provide helpful technical and customer support. Owner Bruno Kellinghusen is well-known in competition driving circles and is able to share with customers his extensive knowledge in the discipline. Kellinghusen Fahrsport sell primarily to specialist retail shops and have a wide client base across Germany and Europe.

Zilco Products (NZ) Chief Executive Mr Francis Pauwels says the company is proud to announce Kellinghusen-Fahrsport as principal German distributor. "Bruno Kellinghusen has a long history of successfully competing at the highest levels of international competition driving and is highly respected for his knowledge of horses, driving harness, carriages and the sport".

Mr Pauwels says Zilco is "absolutely committed to growing Zilco brand awareness in Germany and Europe."

Bruno Kellinghusen, Kellinghusen-Fahrsport, Hamburg, says that he has found Zilco harness to be of superior quality and of excellent workmanship. "Further, it is of light weight, it is cleaned easily and long lasting -- which makes it a good alternative to traditional leather harness."

Mr Kellinghusen says that leather harness is predominant in Germany, but once the benefits of synthetic are seen and appreciated, it will become more popular.

Zilco is continuously innovating and developing new products, designs and materials in conjunction with customers and professional competitors, and is looking to extend this with Bruno Kellinghusen, especially for the German market.

Zilco began in the early 1960s as a small factory in Sydney, Australia, making lightweight racing products from revolutionary synthetic materials. In the early 1980s the factory was moved to Christchurch after a joint venture was formed with Trist & Small, which had been making harness since 1872. Zilco prides itself on its innovative manufacturing. Marrying ingenious design with modern materials continues to form the base of its product development today.

Zilco is also the largest independent wholesale saddlery company in Australia and New Zealand, selling both Australasian and imported products.

With ingenious design with modern materials, Zilco's reputation for quality and innovation has dominated the carriage driving and flat and harness racing markets.
