INNOVATIVE FLUORESCENT POLARTEC® FLEECE HORSEWEAR Concern continues to grow over the unacceptable level of road accidents involving horses. As traffic increases so does the danger and high visibility fluorescent clothing is now no less essential than a hard hat for riding on the road.

Equafleece, a company based in Tavistock, have solved both these problems by commissioning Malden Mills to make Polartec®200 with water repellency in fluorescent yellow.

Saddlepads and exercise sheets in this fabric, combining the benefits of Polartec®200 with the ultimate in high visibility, were launched by Equafleece at their stand at the Royal Cornwall Show in mid-September and have almost immediately become their biggest selling product. Polartec® 200 is fully water-repellent, twice as warm as wool and four times as warm as "thermal" cotton products. It was developed for wear by sailors to minimise ther build up of sweat inside oilskins and therefore has unique wicking ability which means that it dries sweat as fast as a horse produces it.

COLOURS The products are fluorescent yellow trimmed with navy blue.
Saddlepads are also available in a "reversible" colour scheme with one side fluorescent
yellow and the other navy blue. They are available in horse pony & cob sizes and are priced at £24.99 for saddlepads and £34.99 for exercise sheets.
