The British Equine Event 2001

3 & 4th November 2000 - Don't Miss It!

LEADING LEG EXPERTS

Top equestrian experts will be on hand at the British Equine Event, 3-4th November at the NAC Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, to offer information and advice on a range of ‘lower leg’ issues.

Taking part in the series of "Talking Horses" seminars, the speakers will provide a comprehensive guide to treating, recognising and preventing common lower leg ailments as well as more serious and rare complaints.

Simon Curtis, Fellow of the Worshipful Company of Farriers, has been practising on an international level since 1972. He will be discussing the importance of foot trimming and horseshoe fit for general health and the correction of limb imbalances. Simon’s talk will focus on the link between leg conformation, hoof shape and soundness and how good farriery can remedy lameness.

Richard Payne, one of the country’s most experienced equine leg specialists, will provide a user-friendly guide to disease and disorders of the lower leg. He will discuss the leg’s structure and function before going on to diagnostic investigation to help you recognise problems as they develop. Richard will also deal with common ailments such as fractures and infected joints and how to best treat them.

Karen Pearson, event organiser says: "Lower leg problems are one of the most common ailments and these talks are a great opportunity for horse owners to learn more about treatment and prevention."

The "Talking Horses" seminars are just one of a number of attractions at the British Equine Event. It features a packed two-day demonstration programme starring some of the world's top equestrian personalities, over 300 specialist trade stands, a Healthy Horse Focus and a feature on horse breeds.

The British Equine Event is organised by the Royal Agricultural Society of England in association with Your Horse and is sponsored by Dodson & Horrell Ltd, Eqvalan and Intervet. It has fast become known as the biggest event of its kind offering everything for the horse and rider.
