horse 'Through the Grades' with The British Horse Society and Rob Hoekstra

Following hot on the heels from the sell out success of the British Horse Society Instructors' Convention with Jennie Loriston-Clarke in March, comes the October Convention with international show jumper Rob Hoekstra.

Entitled 'Through the Grades' the convention aims to look at the art of show jumping at Foxhunter level. Ridden demonstrations will take the spectator through each phase, step-by-step, and will enable a greater understanding of how to apply the knowledge after the day.

Aimed primarily at BHS Instructors, the convention is also open to anyone looking to further their knowledge in this area.

Rob has represented Great Britain on six occasions and was a member of the winning Nations Cup team on 1989 in Drammen, Norway. He has also won the Hickstead Derby on his great horse, Lionel. As a popular competitor at top level, Rob is looking forward to sharing his knowledge and wealth of experience with the teachers of today.

The BHS Instructors' Convention is on Monday, 6 October at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, Addington, Buckingham and will run from 9.30am - 5.00pm. Tickets are priced at £25 for BHS Registered Instructors, £30 for BHS/BRC Members and £35 for non-members.

The event will count as a refresher course for the BHS Register of Instructors and as 10 hours for holders of the BHS Preliminary Teaching Certificate.

For further details of the event and to book a ticket, please contact the BHS Training Department, (tel: 01926 707799) or email: j.Wilson@bhs.org.uk
