USA Equestrian Awards $25,000 In Grants

The USA Equestrian Executive Committee met on Wednesday, September 25, and approved $25,000 in new Torchbearer Grants to 7 athletes and the Saddle Seat Equitation World Cup Team. The grants ranged from $2,500 to $5,000. This brings the Torchbearer grant total to approximately $125,000.

Kevin Burns, Assistant Executive Director, Development, said, "This clearly demonstrates that USA Equestrian is committed to providing America's athletes financial assistance to help them achieve their dreams. As we continue to identify those athletes who are most deserving, we hope the generosity of the members, corporate sponsors and friends of equestrian sport will continue."

The following athletes received grants:
Dressage: Sue Blinks
Eventing: Natalie Rooney
Vaulting: Jillian Marin, Erik Martonovich, Kenny Geisler, Pamela Geisler and Devon Maitozo


USA Equestrian Inc., as the National Equestrian Federation of the U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and World Championship sports of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show jumping, and vaulting, as well as 19 other breeds and disciplines of equestrian competition. As
the country's largest multi-breed organization, the Federation has over 80,000 members and recognizes more than 2,800 competitions nationwide each year. It governs all aspects of competition, including educating and licensing all judges, stewards, and technical delegates who officiate at these shows.
