GARDEN STATE HORSE SHOW PRESENTED BY THE JUNIOR ESSEX TROOP DONATES $25,000 TO CENTENARY COLLEGE

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ-September 10, 2001-In honor of its 50th anniversary, the Garden State Horse Show presented by the Junior Essex Troop, Inc., has presented a check for $25,000 to Centenary College, the beneficiary of this year's horse show. The $25,000 donation was presented by John H. Fritz, former Commandant of the Junior Essex Troop, to Centenary College's Wolfgang Gstattenbauer.

The donation has been earmarked for a scholarship fund intended for qualifying equine studies majors residing in the state of New Jersey. "We are extremely happy about the Garden State Horse Show's generous donation," said Andrea Wells, Director of Centenary College's Equine Center, instructor of equine studies and coach of the intercollegiate riding team. "Not only will this donation help support our students, but it will also support the equine studies program as well."

Centenary College, located in Hackettstown, NJ, is a higher education facility that offers students the opportunity to pursue an equine studies major. Many graduates have pursued careers with the American Horse Shows Association and become entrepreneurs with riding programs throughout New Jersey.

"We are honored to make this donation to such a fine and reputable equine studies establishment," said Rodney Seelig, co-chairman of the Garden State Horse Show.

The Garden State Horse Show is New Jersey's largest horse show and is rated "AA" by USA Equestrian (formerly known as the American Horse Shows Association). As one of the largest shows of its kind in the country, the Garden State Horse Show attracts the nation's best riders, including U.S. Equestrian Team and Olympic veterans such as Peter Leone and Nona Garson. The Garden State Horse Show will begin its second half-century when it hosts its 51st annual edition, May 1-5, 2002 at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, NJ.
