International event rider Ruth Friend has been in cracking form this season, claiming a number of high profile wins and placings with her string of horses, which she trains and competes from a base near Carlisle in Cumbria, her most recent win achieved last weekend in the British Intermediate Championship with Two Thyme.

Being added to the small elite group of ‘Potential’ Olympic riders has necessitated Ruth travelling to designated venues and specialist centres across the country and she is delighted that local BMW dealer Lloyd BMW in Carlisle have generously offered sponsorship for her in the form of a BMW 318i.

Ruth and her Burghley-bound advanced ride Classic Wizard collected the silver BMW from Lloyd Motors and took part in a photo call, Ruth confirming, “I’ve been doing a lot more travelling of late and this is going to make things so much easier. I’m very grateful for the support of Lloyd BMW – I already love my new car and will definitely enjoy driving it!”

Ruth also enjoys support through NWF Country Stores (who provide her with clothing from the Lucinda Green range, rugs, wormers and the opportunity to network with other riders on the company’s Selective Rider Programme.
