USA EQUESTRIAN ANNOUNCES RESULTS OF 2001 PRUDENTIAL/AHSA PONY MEDAL CHAMPIONSHIP

USA Equestrian (formerly AHSA) announced today the results of the 2001 Prudential/AHSA Pony Medal Championship at the 2001 Prudential/AHSA Pony
Finals, which took place on August 15th 2001 at the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center, Fletcher, NC.

Riders competed for top honors against riders from across the nation over an intricate course of jumps designed by the judges George H. Morris and Scott Hofstetter. Competitors qualified to compete in this event by winning a blue ribbon or by accumulating 30 points in an AHSA Pony Medal Class at an AHSA-sanctioned competition between July 16, 2000 and July 15, 2001.

Pony Medal Championship
Champion - Courtney Reese from Tryon, NC.
Reserve - Sloane Coles from The Plains, VA.
Third place - Callie Leone from Greenwich, CT

The AHSA Pony Finals runs through Friday, August 17th 2001 and will include the Small, Medium and Large Pony classes as well as the Team and Individual Jumper Championships.



USA Equestrian Inc., as the National Equestrian Federation of the U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and World Championship sports of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show jumping, and vaulting, as well as 19 other breeds and disciplines of equestrian competition. As the country's largest multi-breed organization, the Federation has over 77,000 members and recognizes more than 2,800 competitions nationwide each year. It governs all aspects of competition, including educating and licensing all judges, stewards, and technical delegates who officiate at these shows.
