horse BHS Market Research

Market research is currently being undertaken by the British Horse Society. This will enable the BHS to understand the needs of members and non-members alike, in order to provide a better service in the future.

The research is being conducted by Barbara Corcoran, a student on the Equine MBA course at the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester. It aims to identify current levels of awareness of existing benefits offered by the Society, and to identify suggestions for developing new ones!

Benefits offered by the Society include Education and Training, Examinations, insurance, support for riding schools, Riding Clubs, lobbying for road safety and bridleway access, advising government and the EU on transport, breeding and other policies affecting the welfare of horses and ponies as well as the BHS Bookshop.

Both BHS members and non-members will be targeted in this study. As part of the research, Barbara and her colleagues will be asking spectators to complete a short questionnaire at Burghley Horse Trials. A random sample of BHS members and non-members will also be sent questionnaires by post. Completion of the questionnaire leads to a prize draw entry; the first five names selected will win a £25 voucher from the BHS Bookshop.
