Colorado To See First Irish Draught Jump

A first in the Rocky Mountains
Colorado Show Jumping fans for the first time, in Colorado, will have the opportunity to see a Purebred Irish Draught Horse jump. America's most popular Irish Draught Stallion O'Leary's Irish Diamond will be competing at Colorado's biggest show jumping event. Irish will compete during the last two weeks of the High Prairie competition.


In the spring of 2001, the 8-year-old stallion was competing in dressage and winning at least one blue ribbon in every Colorado competition. He was the first Irish Draught to compete in Dressage in Colorado.


However, in December of 2001, Irish started a career in show jumping under the training of acclaimed international rider Rob Gage. In less than six months of show jumping training, the Irish Draught from Ireland's most famous show jumping pedigree ,King of Diamonds. has won both an open modified an open championship in jumping.


A barn party for those interested in learning about the famous Irish Draught Horse will be held on July 12th.


O'Leary's Irish Diamond is one of only two Irish Draught stallons competing in open competition in the United States. Regarding stallions he is one of only a few, in America, approved by the Irish Horse Board.
