horse AHSA ANNOUNCES RESULTS OF DRESSAGE YOUNG HORSE FINALS


The American Horse Shows Association (AHSA) announced today the results of the three Dressage Young Horse Finals, which were recently held to select the U.S. five and six year-old dressage horses that will represent the United States at the World Breeding Championship in Verden, Germany, August 8-11, 2001. A minimum qualifying score of 65% was required to enter into these finals.

According to the AHSA selection criteria, the minimum score required to advance to the World Breeding Championship is 75%. Based on the results of the finals, one U.S. entry achieved the minimum score and is eligible to attend. The U.S. wild card option is yet to be determined.

The American Horse Shows Association, as the National Equestrian Federation of the U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and World Championship sports of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show jumping, and vaulting, as well as 19 other breeds and disciplines of equestrian competition. As the country's largest multi-breed organization, the AHSA has over 70,000 members and recognizes more than 2,600 competitions nationwide each year. It governs all aspects of competition, including educating and licensing all judges, stewards, and technical delegates who officiate at these shows.
