Three Irish Sport Horses on Irish Nations Cup Team at Rome CSIO*****

Three Irish Sport Horses helped Irelands Nations Cup team take second place in the Samsung Nations Cup Superleague at the Rome CSIO***** last weekend, May 22nd-25th. Carling King (ISH), ridden by Kevin Babington (IRL), produced the only double clear of the finishing top three Nations Cup teams. His fellow team members included Lt. Shane Carey (IRL) riding Lismakin (ISH), Conor Swail (IRL) riding Windgate King Koal (ISH) and Cameron Hanley (IRL) riding Jerome.

Conor Swail (IRL) also came second with Windgate Mystique (ISH) in Thursdays 1m40 class. He went on to take third place with Windgate Paragon (ISH) in the 1m50 class on the same day and finished fourth in Sundays €140,000 Roma Grand Prix CSIO Superleague riding Windgate King Koal (ISH).

Lt. Shane Carey (IRL) also had a successful run in Rome, continuing on from his fellow Army Equitation School riders performances last weekend in Pontedera (ITA). He won the 1m45 class on Thursday riding Shannon Dale (ISH), with whom he also took fifth place in Saturdays Small Grand Prix (1m50). On Sunday he rode Killossery (ISH) to win the 1m45 class, having come second in Fridays 1m40 with the same horse.

Also competing in Italy, at the Pinerolo CSI*, was Touch of Clover (ISH) ridden by Fidel Vogt (LIE) to jump a double clear and finish seventh in Sundays Grand Prix.

Finally, in Germany last weekend, at the Aach CSI****, Quick Flash (ISH) and Samantha McIntosh (BUL) won the Preis der Turniergemeinschaft Group A 1m45.
