The Show Jumping Association of Ireland announced last night (Wednesday May 15) that Kerrygold is to be the new sponsor of the National Show Jumping
Grand Prix League.

SJAI Chairman, Tony Hurley, said: <<We are delighted that the SJAI will be associated with such a high profile sponsor as Kerrygold.

<< This sponsorship of the prestigious National Grand Prix League will enable young Irish riders to use the competitions as a stepping-stone to international level. A prime example of this is Dermott Lennon, who progressed quickly from national Grand Prix level to the world stage, where he is now a household name.

The League - now to be known as the Kerrygold National Grand Prix League - embraces 32 different shows at venues throughout Ireland between the months of May and September, and attracts both Irish national and international riders and their horses. Kerrygold's sponsorship of the league will total 20,000 Euros.

Commenting on the adoption of the sponsorship, The Irish Dairy Board managing director Noel Cawley said, <<Kerrygold expects that this new initiative will provide support for the sport nationally and at the same time encourage young stars in their ambition to jump for Ireland in the future. Kerrygold has supported international show jumping over many years through the sponsorship both of individual riders and of events such as the Hickstead Derby, the Millstreet World Cup and the Kerrygold Horse Show, now in its fourteenth successive year of sponsorship by the company>>.
