FEI/GANDINI WORLD JUMPING RIDERS RANKINGS
Top Ten shaken up

Ludger Beerbaum is still in the lead of the FEI/Gandini World Jumping Riders Rankings, but his new contender is the Swiss Willi Melliger, who jumped from 5th to 2nd place. Rodrigo Pessoa, who dropped this month 405 points earned in 2000, goes down to 4th place. Olympic Champion Jeroen Dubbeldam walks up one step and takes 5th rank. Markus Fuchs, who dropped a considerable amount of 324 points from last year, continues to slide down to the 6th place. Michael Whitaker enters the Top 10 and jumps from 11th to 7th position

Placed 17th, Alexandra Lederman is still the Leading lady rider, followed by Jessica Kürten (19th). Leslie Howard goes up from 28th to 21st rank.

FEI/BCM WORLD DRESSAGE RIDERS RANKINGS
Ulla Salzgeber conforts her leading position

The 2001 World Cup Champion Ulla Salzgeber comfortably leads the rankings since the end of February 2001. Thanks to her good results in Vilhelmsborg, Heike Kemmer goes up from 7th to 5th place. The Danish Anne Grethe Törnblad has now 10 results that can be included in the rankings calculation and jumps from 101st to 56th place, as does the American Tom Noone from 96 to 47 place.

DRIVING NEWS

At the recent German national Driving event in Mannheim, two of the proposals of the FEI Driving Think Tank Group were tried out. In Dressage, three carriages were judged simultaneously by two judges standings in the center of the arena. A first ever Four-in-Hand obstacle driving relay was enthusiastically received by a crowd of 9000 spectators, and won by the Freund brothers, Michael and Fred.

IN MEMORIAM

Peter Kübele, who in 1976 in Apeldoorn, competed for Switzerland in the 3rd Four-in-Hand Driving World Championship, passed away at the end of April. He was 57 years old. Kübele was a glass-painter by profession, working in the 6th generation in a family-owned company near St-Gallen.
